We are back in Fort Pierce, Florida after a very happening week. We spent four days at the legendary Daytona International Speedway on the 45th annual Turkey Rod Run. This is the largest car show in the USA and we were here for one purpose, to reach souls for Jesus.
Before we went there we had a wonderful time with another ministry Katie’s blessing to the homeless here in Fort Pierce. So wonderful to see what they do week after week after week for those in need.
For four years we have returned here and for some reason faithfully sat in our tent with literature such as Bibles and tracts. We have always had good talks with people but sometimes it feels like we could do more. We have a vision for the future but as for now the future is in God’s hands as we are taking a well deserved time out after being on the road for 10 years non stop.
This morning we ended our time in Daytona with a wonderful chapel service with Team RFC and Chaplain Tom Ratliff. He is unique and if more people had the kind of heart and spirit he has everything in this world would be so different. A man I love and highly respect as a brother and friend but also a mentor. He has a long history of ministry and he got saved around the same time I was born.
This week we are visiting some recovery centers and the detox clinic. On Saturday we are at St Andrews Church in Lake Worth. Our last service here is Monday, December 2nd at Rehab of South Florida in West Palm Beach. The following day we are returning home to our loved ones.
During the week we have seen thousands of people and thousands of cool cars. I have had some deep thoughts about all the cool cars, especially the expensive cars. I know it is a hobby but I also know it easy can become an idol. Nothing in this world is eternal other than our souls. We can not take our riches with us to heaven but we can store up a reward for ourselves in heaven.
Life is short, eternity is forever. The only way to eternal life in heaven is through Jesus Christ and I have a hard time grasping that I am giving up ministry at this point. Meanwhile I am excited about giving up as giving up means that it is all in God’s hands. I know I will be writing a book and writing some new music and I am excited. Not everyone is so excited about the new book but I feel an urge to share my mistakes with others as well as areas within christianity where it is good to be careful. When you are as blue eyed as I have been you will suffer for it one day but our reward will be in heaven as God knows our hearts.
One more week to go! Keep us in your prayers!
God Bless You All!
